Karnataka Examination Authority is conducting the KCET 2025 April 17 Shift 1 exam. The Mathematics paper is from 10:30 AM to 11.50 AM and the Biology paper is from 2.30 PM to 3.50 PM. The reported difficulty level for the KCET 2025 exam is moderately difficult for both papers.
This year, in 2025, 3.31 lakh candidates are eligible to appear across 775 centers in Karnataka for KCET 2025. Students appearing in the exam must carry their KCET admit card 2025 and one valid photo ID proof to the exam center. Applicants must reach the KCET 2025 exam center at least 45 minutes before the start of the exam. The KCET physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology papers have been conducted on April 16 and 17, respectively, in two shifts.

KCET 2025 Bell Timings
- First Bell: The first bell rings at 10.20 AM for the morning session and 2.20 PM for afternoon session.
- Complete the verification process by showing admit card and ID, then enter and take the assigned seats at the exam center.
- Invigilator verifies the candidate’s photo on admit card, ID proof, and Nominal Roll. Then they will share the OMR answer sheet to them.
- Write your name in Capital Letters and share the CET number on the OMR Sheet. Verify the CET number with that on the admit card.
- Second Bell: The second bell rings at 10.30 AM and 2.30 PM for morning and afternoon sessions respectively.
- Sealed question paper is distributed to the invigilators. 2 candidates must sign in the provided space as witness.
- The question papers are opened and shared at 10.35 AM / 2.35 PM for both shifts.
- Enter the Question Booket Code, nominal roll number, and sign on the OMR Sheet. Verify all the details
- Do not open the question paper or start answering before the third bell.
- Third Bell: The third bell rings at 10.40 AM / 2.40 PM for either shift.
- Open the question paper and start answering on the OMR Sheet. Shade the respective option for the correct answer.
- No one is allowed to enter or leave the exam hall after this bell till the exam session ends.
- Forth Bell: The fourth bell (first caution bell) sounds at 11.10 AM for shift 1 and 3.10 PM for shift 2 marking ‘Half an hour of examination completed’.
- Fifth Bell: The fifth bell (second caution bell) rings at 11.30 AM and 3.30 PM for Shift 1 and 2 to inform ‘Twenty minutes are remaining for the examination to end’.
- Sixth Bell: The sixth bell, also the final caution bell, rings at 11.45 AM and 3.45 PM announcing that ‘Only five minutes are remaining for the examination to end’.
- Seventh Bell: The seventh bell is at 11.50 AM for morning session ans 3.50 PM for afternoon session marking the end of KCET 2025 exam.
- Invigilators ensure everyone stops writing and collects the OMR Sheet.
- Invigilators should separate the Top sheet of the OMR sheet to retain as Office Copy. Return the bottom sheet (Candidate Copy) and question paper booklet to the candidates.

KCET Exam Day Guidelines 2025
You must follow a few guidelines while appearing for the KCET Exam. These are:
- You must follow the KCET dress code 2025 while appearing for the exam.
- Arrive at the KCET 2025 exam center at least 45 minutes before the exam starts.
- Stay at the exam center until the KCET 2025 exam concludes.
- Bring your KCET admit card 2025 and a valid photo ID to the exam center.
- Do not bring restricted items such as mobile phones, calculators, watches, or other electronic devices to the KCET 2025 exam center.
KCET 2025 New Changes
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced a number of changes in the examination procedure. This includes a new dress-code on the lines of National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), monitoring of live streaming of examination halls and more.
The Board Director of KCET said, “For the first time, webcasting and CCTV surveillance will be used in all exam centers. Every candidate will be monitored live. The entire examination process will be monitored through CCTV surveillance, mirroring the protocols followed in major recruitment exams.”
Some other changes that are introduced in KCET 2025 are:
- A facial recognition QR code system will also be in place.
- The QR code is printed on the hall ticket. When scanned, it shows the candidate's photo and full details.
- Security will be further strengthened with the deployment of police and Home Guard personnel at each center.
- They will carry out thorough security checks before allowing candidates to enter the exam halls.
- Full-sleeve clothes are not allowed.
- Wearing watches is banned.
- Further, for the convenience of students, each exam room will have a wall clock for timekeeping.
What is the KCET 2025 Dress Code?
According to the official NTA guidelines on dress-code for NEET, students are advised to avoid wearing heavy or long-sleeved clothes. If someone comes in cultural or traditional dress, they must reach the center at least one hour before the last reporting time.
Candidates can wear slippers or sandals with low heels, but not shoes. If a student needs to wear something different because of a medical reason, they must get special permission from the exam authorities before the admit card is issued.
Additionally, candidates who wear religious or customary items like turbans, scarves, or other faith-based accessories are advised to report two hours early. This is aimed at giving the staff enough time to complete the frisking process smoothly.
KCET 2025 Mathematics question paper consists of 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 60 marks to be attempted in 80 minutes.

- Manageable for candidates with basic Kannada knowledge from the school level.
- Time management and accuracy will be necessary, as the paper will be short but will require careful reading.
- The Grammar and vocabulary sections can be slightly difficult if they are not practiced well.
