Karnataka PGCET 2024: Medical Examination Scheduled for Physically Handicapped Candidates for Admission to PG Courses

KEA released the schedule for the medical examination for physically handicapped candidates who applied for various PG courses. The medical examination for eligibility will be conducted on 5 November 2024 at Office of K.P.P., Bangalore.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued an announcement for candidates applying under the Physically Handicapped category for PG AYUSH, PG Medical, MBA, MCA, and ME courses. Candidates applying for admission under this special category quota are required to attend a medical examination on November 5, 2024, to verify eligibility. The examination will be conducted by a Committee of Doctors at the office of the Karnataka Physically Handicapped Protection (K.P.P.) in Bangalore.

The medical examination is mandatory for all applicants under this quota to determine their eligibility. The decision of the Medical Committee regarding each candidate’s eligibility will be final and binding.

Required Documents for Medical Examination

Candidates must bring the following documents for verification on the day of the examination:

  • Application Form: A completed copy of the application form submitted for PGAYUSH, PG Medical, MBA, MCA, or ME for the year 2024.

  • Admit Card: Relevant admit cards issued by the respective authorities, including PGCET Admit Card, AIA PG Admit Card for PGAYUSH candidates, NBEMS Score Card, and Admit Card for PG Medical students.

  • Identity Proof: A valid ID, such as a Driving License, Passport, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID.

  • Medical Certificate: A certificate of disability, issued by a government doctor specializing in the relevant field, from any Government Hospital in Karnataka.

  • Audiometry Reports (for hearing disabilities): Candidates with hearing impairments are required to present the latest PTA (Pure Tone Audiometry) and BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry) reports from authorized institutions such as the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore, NIMHANS, Bangalore, or other recognized hospitals.

Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria as per the medical examination will be considered for seats under the Physically Handicapped quota. Those who fail to appear for the examination or provide incomplete documentation may lose their eligibility.
