The JEE Advanced paper 2 has been concluded at 5:30 PM. Based on early students' reactions, the overall difficulty of Paper 2 was moderate. The Physics section was tough, Chemistry was moderate, and the Maths section was easy but lengthy.

IIT Roorkee is conducting the JEE Advanced 2026 exam on Sunday, May 17, 2026, through the official website, jeeadv.ac.in, across all 7 zonal IITs.

Paper 1 will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while Paper 2 is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates must appear for both papers as they are compulsory for JEE Advanced ranking and IIT admissions.

  • The JEE Advanced 2026 exam is being conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode across 229 cities in India and 3 international cities.
  • Candidates must carry a printed colour copy of their JEE Advanced 2026 admit card along with an original photo ID proof. Entry to the exam hall will not be allowed without these documents.
  • Last year, JEE Advanced 2025 was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur on May 18, 2025, and nearly 1.87 lakh students appeared for the examination.

Document Required for JEE Advanced 2026 at Exam Centres

JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card downloaded from the official website. All details on the admit card should be clearly visible. In case of any error, contact IIT Roorkee immediately.
Valid Photo ID Proof Students must bring at least one original photo ID proof. Accepted IDs include Aadhaar Card, School ID, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, or Voter ID.
Pen/Pencil Candidates should carry their own pen or pencil for rough work and calculations.
Water Bottle Students are advised to bring their own water bottle to the exam centre.
Scribble Pad The exam centre will provide a scribble pad for rough work at the start of the exam. Extra scribble pads will not be given. Candidates can take the used scribble pad home after the exam.

No, you can't carry your own rough paper.

  • IIT Roorkee provides a scribble pad, a set of blank sheets for rough work and calculations, inside the exam hall at the start of each paper.

  • Several students are reporting difficulty downloading the JEE Advanced 2026 admit card due to high traffic on jeeadv.ac.in.
  • If the link is not opening, try the following:
    • clear browser cache and retry,
    • switch from mobile to a laptop or desktop,
    • Use a different browser (Chrome instead of Safari), or
    • try accessing the portal after 10-15 minutes.
  • The admit card remains available until May 17 at 2:30 PM.
