ISB Prof Vijaya Sunder Features in Top 50 Thought Leaders in Operational Excellence 2023 List; Check Details Here

New Delhi: Prof. Vijaya Sunder of ISB Hyderabad has been selected one of the top 50 thought leaders in operational excellence for 2023 by the Process Excellence Network (PEX) Network. According to a ranking published by Stanford University in 2021, Prof. Sunder was among the top 2% of management scientists worldwide.

The esteemed Crosby Award for excellence in quality management was given to a professor at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, in 2022. This year, he is listed among the top 50 thought leaders in operational excellence.

"I am grateful to represent India at this global forum, the PEX Network of IQPC, and I am honoured by this new accolade. I credit my family, friends, and coworkers for this success, the professor said in an interview with EdexLive.

The lecturer, who formerly worked at Barclays, American Express, Citi, among other places, is currently the Assistant lecturer (Practice) and Chair of the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP). He considers this change from the business world to academia to be one of the high points of his life because it gives him the opportunity to combine teaching at ISB Hyderabad with his business experience.

"Research is yet another success that frequently brings me joy. He cites another noteworthy feature as the fact that it "helps solve practical problems faced by managers objectively and scientifically using data, insights, and proven methodologies".

He shared, "I am presently researching the benefits of operational excellence in the current digital environment. My recent efforts are focused on collaboration between humans and digital machines. I'm interested in conducting a study on issues that connect behavioural operations with operational excellence, he says.
