New Delhi: IIT Ropar has opened applications for its summer internship programs. Interested candidates can submit their applications for IIT Ropar summer internships across various departments through the official website at iitrpr.ac.in. The deadline for registration is March 24, 2024.
Summer internships at IIT Ropar are available in different departments of the institute. As per the dates announced, the IIT Ropar summer internship program will be held for five to eight weeks starting on May 15 to July 15, 2024.
The respective department of IIT Ropar will prepare the selection criteria and merit list depending on the requirement of the number of interns.

IIT Ropar Departments Offering Summer Internships
Students will have the opportunity to choose the departments in which they desire to undertake their internships. The following are the departments at IIT Ropar offering summer internship positions:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Center for Applied Research in Data Sciences
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemistry
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Mathematics
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgical & Materials Engineering
- Physics
Students must choose a research supervisor within their field of study/course. While the application form allows them to select up to three research supervisors, they are required to conduct their internship within one department under a single supervisor.
Furthermore, students are responsible for covering the expenses related to food and access to other amenities during their IIT Ropar summer internship, as no financial aid will be provided. Hostel accommodation, based on availability and shared occupancy, will be offered to interns at an additional cost.
Upon selection for the IIT Ropar summer internship, applicants must submit their accommodation requests to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs through their faculty supervisor and the Head of the Department (HOD) for approval.
