New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) to enhance medical support for military personnel.

As part of this collaboration, IIT Roorkee will promote advanced biomedical research that will enhance medical support in combat scenarios and improve the level of patient care offered to armed forces personnel with the help of AFMS.

IIT Roorkee will provide support to Armed Forces Medical Services in a variety of sectors, including the creation of revolutionary medical equipment, robotics, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

In addition to this, the MoU will focus on faculty exchange programs, cooperative academic events as well as promotion of startups within the healthcare domain. This agreement demonstrates a shared commitment to provide quality medical assistance and healthcare solutions for service members.

The MoU between IIT Roorkee and AFMS was signed by Lt Gen SK Singh, Director General (Org & Pers), on behalf of the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, and Prof Kamal Kishore Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee.
