New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and Samsung R&D Institute, Noida (SRI-Noida) have entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration focuses on various development areas, involving joint research initiatives with IIT Kanpur students, faculty, and Samsung engineers.
The primary objective of this partnership is to equip students to meet industry challenges. The research projects will encompass diverse fields such as health, visual and framework technologies, as well as advanced sectors like Generative AI and Cloud computing.
Beyond research, the MoU aims to offer opportunities for enhancing the skills of Samsung engineers in key technology domains like AI, Cloud, and emerging technologies.
Within the framework of joint research projects, IIT Kanpur's students and faculty will actively address real-world industry issues, aligning their efforts with current market demands. The collaboration emphasises collaborative academic contributions, encouraging joint research paper authorship by IIT Kanpur scholars and Samsung engineers.
Regarding the upskilling initiatives for Samsung engineers, IIT Kanpur will conduct specialised training programs across diverse fields. Leveraging the institute's renowned expertise, these programs will offer various educational options, including degree programs, certifications, and specialised courses.
