IIT Hyderabad Awarded 1103 Degrees During 13th Annual Convocation on July 20

IIT Hyderabad awards 1103 degrees to the graduating batch of 2024. Four students received BTech and MTech degrees under the Dual Degree conversion program.

IIT Hyderabad Celebrates 13th Convocation

New Delhi: IIT Hyderabad (IITH) held its 13th conference on July 20, 2024 and awarded 1103 degrees to the 2024 batch. 1,090 students were awarded 1,103 degrees, four gold medals, and 38 silver medals. This conference received the highest number of graduates in a year at IIT Hyderabad.

The graduates were from several newly introduced programs such as BTech in Biomedical Engineering, MTech in Transportation Engineering, Semiconductor Materials and Devices, Heritage Science and Technology (online), interdisciplinary MTech programs in Integrated Circuits and Microsystems Packaging, Ophthalmic Engineering, and EV Technology (online) and a Master of Arts in Health, Gender, and Society.

IIT Hyderabad Celebrates 13th Convocation

B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, IAS, CEO of NITI Aayog was the Chief Guest at the conference. He congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to contribute to the nation's development. Dr. B V R Mohan Reddy, Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Prof. B S Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, also addressed the graduates, sharing his experience from lifelong learning.

Four students received BTech and MTech degrees under the Dual Degree conversion program, eight received MTech and PhD degrees under the Direct BTech to PhD program, and one received MTech and PhD degrees under the Dual Degree conversion program.

Awards to Four Gold Medalists

IIT Hyderabad gifted graduates specially designed Pochampalli stoles to reflect the culture of Telangana. The University also awarded gold medals to Mamidipaka Pragna (Electrical Engineering), Tanmoy Dutta (Physics), Balaji G R (Civil Engineering), and Anirudh Srinivasan (Computer Science and Engineering), along with 38 silver medals to students with the highest CGPA in their respective departments.

Achievements and Future Directions

Prof. B S Murty highlighted IIT Hyderabad’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem, supporting over 190 startups and introducing the IITH-Greenko BUILD program to support student innovators. New academic programs and hybrid classrooms were also launched to enhance learning experiences.
