Candidates for MA/MDes/MS(R)/PhD programs will be selected based on their success in previous educational qualifications, as well as a written test and/or interview performed by the corresponding academic division.

IIT Guwahati PG Admission Schedule

The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati is offering applications for its Postgraduate programs, which include PhD, MTech, MDes, MS(R), and MA programs. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a 55% aggregate must submit their applications by April 15, 2025, along with required documentation such as academic certificates, identity proof, and age proof.

IIT Guwahati PG Programs Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on the following process:

  • Applications from candidates who are complete in all respects are considered valid.
  • For each programme, the relevant academic division (department/school/centre) will process legitimate applications based on discipline and/or specialization.
  • Applicants who do not meet the minimal eligibility requirements and standards will not be considered for the shortlisting/selection process.
  • The Institute reserves the right to consider a limited number of eligible candidates for the selection process by establishing additional shortlisting criteria based on performance in GATE/NET/CEED, grades/marks in the qualifying degree examination, and/or other educational qualifications beginning with Class 10.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be considered in the selection process.
  • Candidates for MA/MDes/MS(R)/PhD programs will be selected based on their success in previous educational qualifications, as well as a written test and/or interview performed by the corresponding academic division.

The shortlisting and selection outcomes will be announced on the Application Portal. The applicants can log in to the portal and view their results.
