IISER Bhopal Opens PhD and MA Program Application, Apply Before April 15

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal is inviting applications for the PhD, Integrated PhD, and MA for the academic year 2025. Eligible candidates must fill out the application by browsing the admission portal URL provided in the "Direct Link" section below by April 15, 2025.

IISER Bhopal PhD, Integrated PhD, and MA Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the IISER Bhopal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements listed below.

PhD Program Eligibility

• Minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale in bachelor's degree
• Candidates in the SC/ST/PWD categories will be permitted a 10% or equivalent grade concession on B(1), while OBC-NCL/EWS candidates will be allowed a 5% relaxation.

Integrated PhD Eligibility

• A minimum of 60% grades or a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale (not just in the main topic).

• Candidates in the SC/ST/PWD categories will be permitted a 10% or equivalent grade concession on B(1), while OBC-NCL/EWS candidates will be allowed a 5% relaxation.

MA Program Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in any relevant field.
• A minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale.

The selection process for the IISER Bhopal is described below:

PhD Selection Process

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The date of the interview will be announced to shortlisted candidates via e-mail and posted on the Institute's website.
• TA would be paid to SC/ST applicants who attend for the interview in accordance with Government of India guidelines.

MA Selection Process

• Eligible candidates will have to take an admission exam. Candidates who have been shortlisted will be invited for an interview based on their exam performance.
• The dates of the entrance exam and interview will be sent to candidates via email and made available on the Institute's website.
• Travel allowance (TA) would be offered to SC/ST applicants appearing for the entrance exam, in accordance with Government of India guidelines.

Integrated PhD Selection Process

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview. The date of the interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates via email and posted on the Institute's website.
• TA will be paid to SC/ST applicants who attend the interview in accordance with the Government of India norms.

Candidates who are taking or about to take final exams for their qualifying degree programs are eligible to apply for the PhD program. However, if selected, entrance to the PhD program would be contingent on completing the qualifying degree with the specified marks criteria prior to joining the institute.
