IISER has released the IAT 2026 Round 1 seat allotment on iiseradmission.in. Selected candidates must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee by July 28. Round 2 seat allotment will be declared on August 1.
Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) have declared the Round 1 seat allotment. The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 result is now live on iiseradmission.in. Candidates can now log in to check their offered institute and programme.
Selected candidates must accept the seat and pay the fee. The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) window closes on July 28, 2026. Round 2 seat allotment will be declared on August 1.
The SAF confirms the allotted seat and blocks it. Non-payment by the deadline will lead to seat cancellation. The fee later adjusts against the first semester tuition.

IISER Seat Acceptance Fee 2026
The SAF amount differs across categories. It includes a non-refundable administrative portion. The remaining amount adjusts against the first semester tuition at the admitting institute.

How to Pay the SAF Online?
Candidates need their IAT 2026 login credentials to complete the payment. The process runs entirely on the official portal. Follow these steps in order.
- Visit the official portal at iiseradmission.in.
- Log in with the IAT 2026 application number and password.
- Check the allotted institute and BS-MS Dual Degree programme details.
- Select the willingness option (Accept and Freeze or Accept and Float).
- Pay the applicable SAF using UPI, net banking, or card.
- Download the payment receipt for future reference.

What Are Freeze and Float Options?
IISER offers two willingness choices at the time of SAF payment. The chosen option decides how a candidate participates in later rounds.
- Accept and Freeze: The candidate confirms the current seat. No upgrade will be considered in later rounds.
- Accept and Float: The candidate accepts the current seat but stays in the pool. A better preference may be offered in Round 2 or later.
The SAF paid in Round 1 transfers automatically if the seat upgrades. Candidates need not pay the fee again during later rounds.
Round 2 allotment uses only the pool of confirmed candidates. Missing the July 28 SAF deadline forfeits the offered seat. Such candidates also exit further counselling rounds entirely.
