Candidates with a valid JEE Advanced 2026 rank must register on the JoSAA portal to secure seats. The move aims to simplify admissions and align IISc with IITs and other top institutes. JoSAA registration will begin on June 2, 2026.

What Has Changed in IISc BTech Admission Process?

Earlier, IISc handled admissions separately. Students had to fill the IISc BTech application form and attend counselling conducted by the institute. From 2026 onwards, admissions will be done only through JoSAA. Students must:

  • Register on JoSAA portal
  • Fill choices
  • Participate in centralized seat allotment

This will make the process faster, transparent, and similar to IIT admissions.

Which Courses Are Offered at IISc Bengaluru?

IISc Bangalore currently offers two undergraduate programmes:

  • BTech in Mathematics and Computing (via JEE Advanced)
  • BS in Research (via IISER Admission Test – IAT)

Only the BTech programme comes under JoSAA counselling. BS admissions will continue through IAT separately.

How to Apply for IISc BTech Admission Through JoSAA 2026?

Follow these steps:

  1. Qualify JEE Main 2026
  2. Appear and secure rank in JEE Advanced 2026
  3. Register at JoSAA portal
  4. Fill IISc Bengaluru as preferred choice
  5. Participate in seat allotment rounds

Seat confirmation will happen through JoSAA only.

Students targeting IISc should now focus on JEE Advanced preparation and keep documents ready for counselling. After results, candidates must complete JoSAA registration starting June 2, 2026, fill choices carefully, and follow allotment rounds.

Required documents typically include JEE scorecard, Class 10 & 12 mark sheets, ID proof, category certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photographs.
