IIMK LIVE, the incubation center has joined hands with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) to empower startups in the realms of clean energy and deep tech.

New Delhi: IIMK LIVE, the incubation center has collaborated with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) as part of their ‘Project Ankur’ initiative, to enhance the development of startups in the clean energy and deep tech sectors.
The recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Prof. Ashutosh Sarkar, Executive Director of IIM Kozhikode LIVE, and Sameet Pai, Head of Corporate Strategy at BPCL, strengthened their collaboration.
The 'Project Ankur' initiative by BPCL aims to create a nurturing ecosystem for entrepreneurship in India by backing innovative concepts that have the potential to flourish into successful startups. Through its collaboration with IIMK LIVE, BPCL plans to offer essential incubation, mentorship, and training to chosen startups, enhancing their prospects for success.

Shri Sameet Pai, the Head of Corporate Strategy at BPCL, conveyed the company's dedication to innovation and customer-centricity, stating that at BPCL, they aspire to instigate disruption in the energy sector for a more sustainable future.
He highlighted that startups contribute cutting-edge technology, unique perspectives, and agile mindsets while fostering an entrepreneurial culture. He stated that the collaboration with IIMK LIVE aims to identify and nurture high-quality and high-potential startups.

Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, the Director of IIM Kozhikode Faculty and Chairman of IIMK LIVE, underscored India's significant role in contributing knowledge and innovation globally. He highlighted sustainability as a crucial focus for the institute, expressing its commitment to developing a supportive ecosystem.
Prof. Chatterjee pointed out that the collaboration between IIMK LIVE and BPCL will enhance clean energy and deep tech-based startups, making a substantial contribution to a sustainable future.
Under 'Project Ankur,' BPCL has already extended funding to over 30 impactful startups, including notable companies such as Genrobotics, Detect Technologies, Anthill Creations, Cygenica, and EyeROV. These success stories serve as compelling evidence of the transformative potential of innovation when backed by dedicated efforts.
Meanwhile, the partnership between BPCL and IIMK LIVE holds the potential to nurture a greater number of innovative startups in the clean energy and deep tech sectors. This collaboration aims to propel India's entrepreneurial ecosystem towards increased sustainability and success.
