New Delhi: IIM Sambalpur has initiated classes for its inaugural MBA batch designed for working professionals in Delhi. This program provides specialization options in areas such as Data Science, Product Management, Innovation, Startup, and various other functional domains.
The introduction of the MBA program at IIM Sambalpur was led by Poonam Kumar, Chairperson of MBA for Professionals, with Amrut Mohanty serving as the moderator for the event, and SH Rao delivering the vote of thanks.
IIM Sambalpur reported that an 80-year-old entrepreneur, GM Gupta, has enrolled in the MBA program in Delhi.
Expressing his dedication to learning, Gupta mentioned that he had previously completed a Ph.D. and runs a startup in the defense sector, with prior experience at DCM Shriram. Managing a startup, he believes that acquiring new technologies and knowledge through case studies, along with unlearning outdated methods, will enhance his effectiveness.
Alok Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, highlighted how the credit system introduced in the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) enables students to engage with institutions both within India and internationally.
Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur faculty, emphasized the changing landscape of industries and the evolving need for management education.
He stressed the importance of promoting innovation-driven entrepreneurship, which has led Indian business schools to foster innovation and integrity. Jaiswal expressed optimism about these factors contributing positively to the country's GDP in the future.
Keynote speaker Shatanik Goswami, Lead Consultant at Google Cloud Consulting, congratulated Jaiswal on this milestone and delved into the essence of product management. He also highlighted the significance of aligning three crucial elements within a startup: business, interests, and experience.
