The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi has begun applications process for its prestigious Doctoral Programme (PhD) in Management for the 2026 academic session.

This full-time residential program is designed for individuals aiming to excel in research, academia, and specialized management consultancy. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official portal before January 31, 2026.

The application fee for the IIM Ranchi PhD program is non-refundable and must be submitted exclusively through the online payment mode. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD categories are required to pay a fee of ₹1,000, while the application fee for all other categories is ₹2,000.

IIM Ranchi PhD Admissions 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Ph.D. program, candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

• Master’s Degree/PG Diploma: First class in any discipline.
• Four-Year Degree (B.Tech/B.E): Minimum 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.
• Professional Qualification: CA/ICWA/CS with a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 55% aggregate).
• General Academic Record: At least 55% marks in all public examinations starting from secondary level (Class 10).
• Age Limit: Must not be more than 55 years old as of June 30, 2025.

IIM Ranchi PhD Admissions 2026 Selection Process

1. Qualifying Exams: Candidates must have a valid score from CAT (2024/2025), GATE, GRE, GMAT, or NET/JRF (UGC/CSIR). Graduates with a PGDM from any IIM (minimum 6.5 CGPA) within the last four years are exempt from these entrance tests.
2. Shortlisting: Based on academic performance and entrance test scores.
3. Final Round: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Seminar and Personal Interview scheduled for April/May 2025.
