IIM Raipur PhD Admission 2026 Begins @iimraipur.ac.in; Application Closes on March 27

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has officially opened the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) admission process for the 2026 batch. Eligible candidates can apply online through the institute’s official website till March 27, 2026 (11:59 PM).

To be eligible at IIM Raipur, candidates must hold a Master’s degree/PGP with at least 55% marks, or possess approved professional qualifications such as CA/ICWA/CS, or a four-year engineering degree with a minimum CGPA of 6.5. A 5% relaxation is applicable for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

IIM Raipur PhD 2026 Selection Process

For PhD admissions at IIM Raipur, a valid CAT score is accepted across all functional areas. In place of CAT, scores of GMAT, GRE, GATE or CSIR-UGC-NET (JRF with fellowship) in the relevant discipline are also accepted. Only test-centre-based GMAT/GRE scores are valid.

Exemption: Candidates holding a two-year full-time MBA/PGDM from any IIM with a minimum CGPA of 6.0/10 are exempted from the entrance test and may apply directly.

The following are the category-wise minimum cut-off test scores required to apply for the PhD program:

After scrutiny of applications, the Admissions Office, in consultation with the Admissions Committee, will fix area-wise and category-wise cut-offs to shortlist candidates for the PI at IIM Raipur. Final selection will be based on academic credentials, research aptitude, professional achievements and PI performance.

Shortlisted candidates must produce original academic documents and test scorecards during verification. Applicants seeking entrance test exemption must upload valid grade sheets; applications without complete documentation will not be considered.

Merit List Preparation

Area-wise merit lists will be prepared based on academic credentials, performance in the interview, and research publications. The following are the components of the merit list:

*Candidates having publications in Scopus Q1 or Q2 journals only will be awarded 5 marks. No marks will be given for any other publications.

Offer Acceptance & Withdrawal

Candidates accepting the PhD admission offer must pay:

• Offer Acceptance Fee: ₹40,000
• Caution Deposit: ₹30,000
• Alumni Association Fee: ₹10,000

In case of withdrawal within the specified period, the fee will be refunded after deducting ₹1,000 as processing charges. Refunds after registration will be subject to seat replacement and proportionate deductions.
