IIM Kozhikode Lays Foundation Stone of New Campus in Kochi; Check Details Here

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has initiated the construction of a new campus in Kochi, signifying the expansion of its executive education initiatives.

This new IIM Kozhikode campus, spanning over 50,000 square feet and consisting of six floors, will accommodate a variety of facilities, including multi-format classrooms, conference spaces, studios, and a library. 

The foundation stone for this campus was laid by the Chairman of the Board of Governors of IM Kozhikode, A. Vellayan, in the presence of IIM-K's Director, Debashis Chatterjee, and the Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL), Loknath Behera.

Vellayan mentioned that the decision to expand in Kochi was a strategic one for IM Kozhikode. The city boasts a thriving business and startup ecosystem, is conveniently situated, and provides excellent connectivity for both domestic and international participants.

He further expressed that the executive education programs have been experiencing growing interest, and the establishment of this new campus will enable the institute to accommodate a wider range of programs. 

In 2013, IIM-Kozhikode set up its first campus in Kochi with a facility in Infopark. The newly planned IIM-K Kochi campus building is being meticulously constructed by KMRL, situated adjacent to NH-544 (Kochi-Salem highway) and positioned behind the Cusat Metro station.

Furthermore, Chatterjee highlighted that management education represents India's distinctive soft power asset, and IIM-K has consistently been at the forefront, setting new benchmarks and achieving significant progress.

The upcoming Kochi campus underscores the institute's commitment to combining "advanced technology and personal engagement." It will empower to provide a diverse range of executive programs in both traditional and blended formats. 

As the sole top-3 ranked management school in Kerala and Kochi, the institute aims to persist in delivering the academic excellence associated with top-tier IIMs, catering to the requirements of businesses and working professionals in Kerala and its surrounding regions, extending into the Middle East and South Asia, he explained.
