New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow is conducting CAT 2023 in three different shifts today (November 26, 2023). CAT 2023 slot 1 began at 8:30 am and ended at 10:30 am. Over 3.3 lakh students are expected to appear for CAT exam today in 400 test centers across 155 cities.

The CAT 2023 exam will be conducted in two more slots, slot 2 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm and slot 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The exam will be computer-based. Candidates can appear for the examination at their respective exam centres.

Candidates must carry a colored/black-and-white printed copy of the CAT admit card to the exam center. Permissible identity proof to carry along with CAT 2023 admit card includes an Aadhar card, Electoral ID, Driving License, PAN card, Passport, or any government-issued document.

IIM Lucknow has not changed the CAT 2023 question paper format. The CAT 2023 question paper will consist of 66 questions (MCQs and non-MCQs). The questions will be on Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).

CAT 2023: Dress Code

Candidates must follow the below-mentioned dress code while appearing the examination;

What to Wear:

Female candidates have been advised to wear simple clothing. Males are advised to wear simple attires without any fancy accessories.

What Not to Wear:

Avoid any fancy jewelry, necklaces, bracelets, earrings or rings. Students wearing such items will be asked to remove them before entering the exam hall.
Avoid wearing any type of footwear with thick soles. Dresses attached to caps or hoodies are also not allowed. Clothes with metal attachments are prohibited.
Students with a pacemaker or any metal object inside their bodies are required to carry supporting medical documents to avoid extra checking before the exam commences
Candidates cannot carry electronic devices like mobile phones inside the exam hall. Laptops, smartwatches, and fitness bands are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. Devices like pagers and calculators are also prohibited inside the exam hall.
Females are not allowed to apply henna or mehndi as it may cause issues during the biometric process.

CAT 2023 Marking Pattern

Candidates will get 40 minutes to solve each section in the CAT 2023 exam. PwD candidates will get a relaxation of 53 minutes and 20 seconds to solve each section.

The total marks for the CAT exam are 198. Candidates will get 3 marks for every correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer in CAT 2023. There is no negative marking for CAT non-MCQ questions.
