The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) has successfully concluded the final placement process for its 61st MBA batch, achieving a 100% placement rate. Despite a challenging global hiring environment, the institute saw a significant rise in recruiter participation and compensation levels.
The 2026 placement season was headlined by a record-breaking highest domestic offer of ₹1.45 crore per annum. IIM Calcutta also reported a 5.05% year-on-year increase in average compensation, which reached ₹36 lakh per annum, while the median salary stood at ₹35 lakh. A total of 458 students participated in the process, securing 542 offers from 202 recruiters, including 61 first-time participants.

The finance sector also showed strong momentum with over 100 offers in private equity, venture capital, and investment banking from prestigious names such as Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, and Bank of America.
