IIM Bangalore Introduces Online UG Program in Digital Business & Entrepreneurship

New Delhi: IIM Bangalore has introduced its new online program in 'Digital Business and Entrepreneurship'. This three-year course will commence from September, 2024. The registration process will start from June 15, 2024. 

IIMBx. Prof. Suresh Bhagavatula, a senior faculty member at IIMB, will lead the course. This BBA program aims to blend digital technology, business management principles, and an entrepreneurial mindset, preparing students for the competitive business landscape. It will offer internship opportunities and practical projects to students. 

What is the Course Structure of IIM Bangalore Online BDE Program? 

• The course consists of a one-year certificate in digital business and entrepreneurship with 22 courses, 45 credits. The course fee is INR 1.25 lakh. 
• The two-year diploma program consists of 21 courses, 45 credits with a fee of INR 1.50 lakh. 
• The three-year degree consists of 17 courses with 45 credits which costs INR 1.75 lakh.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for IIM Bangalore Online BDE Program?

The eligibility criteria for the IIM Bangalore BDE program are as follows:

• Class 10th pass certificate from any recognized board.
• A minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Class 12th examination for General, OBC & EWS category candidates.
• SC, ST & PwD (with≥40% disability) candidates are required to obtain 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in Class 12.

The courses will be online and asynchronous; there will be recorded content to make them flexible as students will come from different streams. In terms of entrance, there will be a test. Overall, we will make it as engaging and interactive as possible.”

Professor Vasanthi Srinivasan, Chairperson, Digital Learning and Faculty of the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management of IIM Bangalore also explained, “In terms of the asynchronous element, we are looking at four components, including faculty videos, assigned readings, ungraded assignments as assessments, and depending upon the course one could have a project or be able to watch interviews of people and look at perspectives that they bring, or it could be working through a simulation. In each course, there are variations in terms of the pedagogy that is innovative, which is around how to act on what one learns. Then there are assessments and focus on how much time the learner spent. We are investing sufficiently in the social learning process, hand-in-hand with the academic learning process, to ensure learner satisfaction.”
