IIM Bangalore Concludes Largest Ever Summer Internship Placements, Nearly 600 Students Placed

New Delhi: The IIM Bangalore has successfully concluded the summer internship placements for its largest-ever batch of Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA), consisting of 602 eligible students

The week for summer placements was held from November 6 to 11 and witnessed the placement of 484 students (437 PGP and 47 PGP-BA). Additionally, a subsequent rolling placement process resulted in 115 more students securing internships (89 PGP and 26 PGP-BA). 

This phase included a targeted initiative by Atypical Advantage, facilitating the placement of 12 students with disabilities in leading corporations. Notably, three PGP students independently sought and secured summer internships.

Prof. Ganesh N Prabhu, Chairperson of Career Development Services and faculty in the Strategy area at IIM Bangalore shared that many first-time recruiters participated, offering roles in strategy, marketing, products, finance, analytics, and investments.

Consulting firms (20 firms made 158 offers): Highest offers were made by Accenture Strategy (45), Bain & Company (17), Boston Consulting Group (17), EY Parthenon (15), TCS Strategic Leadership Program (11), McKinsey & Company (10).

Finance/Banking/Investments (43 firms made 130 offers): Highest offers from PwC (12), Goldman Sachs (7), JP Morgan Chase (7), Avendus Capital (6), Barclays (6), Brookfield (6), 

FMCG/Retail (23 firms made 69 offers): Highest offers by Hindustan Unilever (10), Procter & Gamble (9), and Coca-Cola (5).

Manufacturing/Construction/Energy (20 firms made 55 offers): Tata Steel made maximum offers i.e. 10 offers.

E-commerce/Payments/Telecom (15 firms made 45 offers) with highest offers from Amazon (11), and American Express (5).

IT Software/Services/Security (14 firms made 43 offers), with the highest by Pinelabs (7), Google (6), and Microsoft (5).

Conglomerates saw participation from 10 firms who made 41 offers i.e.Aditya Birla Group (8), Vedanta (8), Tata Administrative Services (5), Adani (4), Brigade (4), Mahindra (4), The Chatterjee Group (3), Reliance Industries (2), TVS (2), CK Birla (1).

Foundations/Governance/Education (9 firms made 29 offers): Nation with NaMo (9), IIMBx Digital Learning Foundation (4), Ants Skill Varsity (3), Foundation for Economic Development (3), Foundation for Excellence India Trust (2), Indian Foundation for Quality Management (2), Prerana (2), Samagra (2), United Efforts (2).

Healthcare (9 firms made 19 offers): Sun Pharmaceuticals (5), Sparsh Hospital (4), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (2), Glenmark (2), Haleon (2), Alkem Laboratories (1), Axtria (1), Labcorp (1), Tata1mg (1).
