IGNOU Launches Online Courses in Agriculture; Admissions Open @ignou.ac.in

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a series of online courses focusing on emerging agricultural fields. Interested and eligible candidates can now apply for admission through the official website, ignou.ac.in. 

As per IGNOU, the online course covers 16 domains from various levels in agriculture. These courses are available in the certificate (six months), diploma, postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, and master's degree formats.

These online courses include subjects such as Dairy Farming, Organic Farming, Beekeeping, Poultry Production, Sericulture, Agriculture Policy, Agricultural Cost Management, Water and Watershed Management, Dairy Technology, Meat Technology, Value-Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables, Horticulture, Agribusiness, and Food Safety and Quality Management.

Key Features of IGNOU Online Agricultural Programs 2024 

The IGNOU Online Agricultural Programs 2024 provides students with various employment options, equipping them with valuable skills in high demand within the agro-food sector. 

The courses also furnish essential skills for participation in agri-start-up ventures, including organic farming, contract farming, farmers' producers' enterprises, and the management, processing, and marketing of agri-inputs.

Within its 21 schools of study, IGNOU's School of Agriculture provide employable skills to various stakeholders, including farmers, rural youth, technicians, and farm women. The school's overarching goal is to enhance livelihoods in agriculture and related fields through Open and Distance Learning.

In a related update, IGNOU will conclude re-registration for all programs offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online mode for the January 2024 session on February 29, 2024. Aspiring candidates can register for ODL programs at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in, while those interested in online mode programs can register at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
