HPNLU Shimla Begins PhD Admission 2025–26 for UGC NET Candidates; Apply till February 15 @hpnlu.ac.in

The Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla (HPNLU) has officially started the PhD Admission 2025–26 process for eligible candidates. The admission is open only for UGC-NET/JRF and PhD-qualified candidates across multiple subjects.

As per the official notification dated December 26, 2025, interested applicants must submit the online application within the prescribed timeline. The selection process will be based on UGC-NET score, merit list, and research proposal presentation, in line with UGC regulations. The last date to apply is February 15, 2026.

HPNLU PhD Admission 2026 Dates

HPNLU has clearly stated that only UGC-NET/JRF or PhD-qualified candidates are eligible to apply. Offline applications will not be accepted under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Note: If candidates are not available in the reserved categories, vacant seats will be allotted to the unreserved category as per university norms.

How Will HPNLU Select PhD Candidates?

Admission will be based on:

• UGC-NET/JRF score
• Merit list prepared by the university
• Presentation and screening of the research proposal before the university committee

The process follows the UGC NET Review Committee guidelines dated March 27, 2024.

After the application deadline, HPNLU will release the merit list and schedule for research proposal presentations. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about coursework registration and further admission formalities.
