Odisha CPET Counselling: Spot Counselling Announced for UG, PG, and B.Ed/M.Ed Courses for 2024-25

Government of Odisha’s Higher Education Department has announced a special "Spot Admission" drive for filling vacant seats in Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and 2-year B.Ed/M.Ed courses for the 2024-25 academic session. Under the SAMS (Student Academic Management System) project, this initiative aims to maximize student intake in participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Odisha. Candidates can fill out the Common Application Form (CAF) from November 11 to November 15, 2024.

Key Highlights of the Spot Admission Process:

• Eligibility and Requirements:

  • UG, PG, and B.Ed/M.Ed applicants can participate if they appeared in the CPET-2024 or the B.Ed/M.Ed entrance exams and have a valid rank.

  • Both previously admitted and non-admitted students are eligible to apply.

  • Admission is merit-based without any reservations or weightage for the spot round.

  • Applicants can select between one and three institutions or subjects where seats remain vacant.

• Application Process:

  • Applicants should submit the Common Application Form (CAF) on the SAMS portal.

  • Students already enrolled in earlier phases who secure a spot round seat must collect the College Leaving Certificate (CLC) from their previously admitted institution by November 28, 2024.

• Physical Reporting and Document Verification:

  • Candidates must report physically to their chosen HEI by 3:45 PM on the designated date with all required documents for spot admission.

  • HEIs will generate a merit list for eligible students present during reporting hours.

• Final Selection and Fee Payment:

  • The selected candidates will be informed by HEIs for document validation and should pay the admission fees directly to the HEI.

Spot Admission Schedule

Applicants who have previously applied in earlier phases can log in to the SAMS portal with their existing credentials and submit a new CAF without incurring additional fees. New applicants, however, are required to pay the standard CAF fee. Check Odisha CPET 2024
