GCAS has received over 6 lakh registrations for admission into 15 state universities. About 4.84 lakh registrations were received in the UG category and 1.46 lakh in the PG category.

New Delhi: GCAS received over 6.3 lakh registrations total until June 02, out of which 4.84 lakh students have registered for UG Admissions 2024 through GCAS. Out of the total registration, 3,18,000 undergraduate and 62,300 postgraduate candidates have paid for registration.
The UG registrations are received for various graduate-level courses, such as BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, and others. Students can select multiple programs, colleges, and universities through a single application, but admission can be secured to only one program.
Gujarat University Registration Drops, 86197 Students Applied for GU Admission 2024
This year, the number of students who applied for admission to Gujarat University is recorded at 86,197, which is 20,000 fewer than last year’s 106,618 students. This year, over 50000 students have opted for Gujarat University as their choice for UG admissions.
After GU, students have selected Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) as their second choice for undergraduate admission with 78,912 registrations.
GCAS Sees Over 1.46 Lakh PG Registrations So Far, Admission Deadline Extended till June 13
As per the data, over 1.46 lakh registrations are recorded for the postgraduate category and the numbers are expected to rise as the deadline for PG registration is extended till June 13, 2024. Earlier, the last date to apply for Gujarat PG Admissions 2024 was June 03, 2024.
Informing about the changes in schedule, Gurav Dinesh Ramesh, Director of Higher Education stated “Similarly, the registrations for postgraduate programmes, the deadline for which was June 3, have been extended for 10 days until June 13.”
What is Gujarat Common Admission Services?
The Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) is a first-of-its-kind initiative by the government for higher education across 15 state universities. It will conduct a centralized online admission system for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Gujarat.
