DU introduced a new UG Honours course under its Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies this year. Students applying through the CUET have the option of studying over 1500 subject combinations.
New Delhi: Delhi University has announced a few changes in its DU UG Admissions process, including the introduction of a new UG course in Russian Studies. Interested candidates can apply for admission by submitting their applications by April 10, 2024 through CUET UG 2024.
According to an information bulletin released by the institute on March 29, 2024, DU will allow students to choose six subjects in their UG degree, including languages. Students will be allotted seats through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).
Key Highlights of DU New UG Courses in Russian Studies
The Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies will oversee the three-year UG course. Students will learn how to speak, read and write the Russian language fluently. They will also study various parts of Russian History, Literature, and Culture to gain a deeper understanding of Russia and the Russian language.
During the 2023 session, DU merged the A and B categories of subjects offered, giving students the ability to choose a language and at least three other subjects out of 27 subjects available under DU.
This year, students applying through the CUET can avail one of 71, 000 seats from 79 UG courses in 68 different colleges under DU. Those studying in UG courses under DU will be able to choose from over 1500 subjects.
The DU admissions admit thousands of students through national-level tests such as the CUET and university-run entrance tests such as the Common Entrance Test (CET). The university is also considering CUET scores for PG programs.
