DU and Kyungpook National University to Promote Korean Language Education

New Delhi: The University of Delhi and Kyungpook National University have joined hands to promote Korean language education at both universities. The MoU was signed by Registrar of Delhi University, Dr Vikas Gupta, and Director of the Institute of International Development, Kyungpook National University, Professor Hwang Hwa-Seok.

After a year of implementation, this MoU will be renewed annually for the following three years. The Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh shared that this is a step toward the two universities working together in a friendly and mutually beneficial manner.

The MoU signing event witnessed the presence of Mr. Anoop Lather, Public Relations Officer; Professor Nabin Panda, Head of the Department of East Asian Studies; Professor Neera Agnimitra, Chairperson of the Department of East Asian Studies. 

Additionally, Prof. Anil Rai, Dean of the Department of International Relations (Social Sciences & Humanities); and Prof. Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Dean of the Department of International Relations (Science & Technology), along with other representatives from the field of international relations were also present on this occasion.

As per Dr. Vikas Gupta, under the MoU, the Kyungpook National University will provide us funds for program development and operation expenses that include renovation of the language laboratory and infrastructure. 

DU also hired a Korean language instructor and promised to provide scholarships for ten Department of East Asian Studies students each year, enabling them to take part in exchange programs at Kyungpook National University.
