Delhi University has announced PhD Admissions 2024-25 (Phase I) for the Department of History. Eligible candidates must submit their research proposals and documents by December 25, 2024.at 11:59 pm.

The History Department offers 50 seats, including supernumerary seats (PwD, F.N., DU teachers, etc.). Phase-I interviews will be conducted to fill 30 seats, adhering to university reservation policies.

• Candidates eligible for the PhD program in History include:
• Those who have cleared UGC-NET in History in December 2023 or June 2024.
• Candidates qualified for national-level fellowships (e.g., JRF, NFSC, NFST, NFPwD).
• Candidates holding an MPhil degree in History.
• Permanent teaching and non-teaching staff of the University of Delhi.

Delhi University Admission: Research Proposals and Documents

Candidates must submit Research proposals in PDF, DOC, or DOCX format. Other required documents e.g., caste/category certificates, and academic qualifications need also be submitted.

The last date for submission via the Google Form is 25th December 2024 (11:59 PM). Documents must be accessible and not password-protected.

Guidelines for Research Proposals

Research proposals (up to 3000 words, Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5) should include:

• Title and type of research.
• Scope, significance, and research framework.
• Brief historiography on the subject.
• Research questions and objectives.
• Bibliography of sources consulted.
