New Delhi: The Delhi University (DU) is inviting applicants for its Competence Enhancement Scheme (CES) for the papers offered in Semesters I, III & V of the 2024-25 academic session. Interested and eligible candidates can enroll their names for the scheme through the official website ces.du.ac.in from June 10, 2024. Candidates have to pay INR 6,000 per course to enroll in a course under Delhi University CES 2024.

What is the DU CES Scheme?

The CES Scheme (Competence Enhancement Scheme) has been introduced by DU to provide opportunity to the learners from any age/discipline/profession and to the students from other universities /institutions to study a handful of papers in this University.

Interested candidates may register for one or two papers in a semester, for a maximum of eight credits without enrolling in a programme, and study along with the regular students of a programme of study in the University Departments and the Departments of Colleges of University of Delhi.

Registration to a course shall be done based on merit. A candidate who is already enrolled in any other University/institution as a regular student or employed personnel would be required to submit a no Objection Certificate from the parent University/institution or his/her employer, as the case may be, at the time of registration. 

Who is Eligible for Delhi University CES Admission 2024?

The Delhi University CES eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Any person who fulfils the minimum eligibility criteria and pre-requisites, if any, specified for an existing course, can register for that course.
  • Admission shall be done based on merit. The merit shall be decided based on the candidates’ age and the marks percentage obtained in the qualifying degree. 
  • In addition to the minimum eligibility criteria, one must be able to demonstrate genuine interest in and enthusiasm for the courses proposed to study. The candidate must have the time and commitment needed to study the course along with the students studying in regular mode

How Many Seats are Available for Delhi University CES Admission 2024?

The number of seats in a course open for this Scheme shall be a maximum of 10% of the total strength of the class of that course or 6 seats, whichever is less. For instance, if the size of the class of Course 'A' is 60 and that of course 'B' is 22, then the number of seats open for registration for persons under the CES for course 'A''and course 'B' shall be 6 and 2 respectively. These seats under CES in a course shall be treated as supernumerary. The additional financial support or manpower or infrastructures, if any, shall be provided by the College or the Department of the University for running the Scheme. 

What is the Validity Delhi University CES Admission 2024?

The registration of candidates for the specific paper will be valid for that semester only. A student who fails to pass in/complete a paper shall re-register for it with payment of same amount of fee, if he/she so desires to earn the credits from the course and get the relevant certificate. 

What After Completion of Delhi University CES Courses?

On fulfilling the criteria as laid down in the University norms, candidate who registered for 1-2 papers, after successful completion of the same, the credits earned shall be deposited in his/her account in the Academic Bank of Credits and a certificate shall also be issued after fulfilling attendance criteria and successfully completing the evaluation process as applied to the regular students.
