CUSAT M.Tech Admission 2026 Deadline Extended Till May 15; Apply Now

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has extended the application submission deadline for its Master of Technology (M.Tech) programmes to May 15, 2026. Candidates seeking admission to 14 specialized M.Tech programmes can now register online through the official admissions portal at admissions.cusat.ac.in.

The extension provides additional time for eligible applicants to complete their registration and submit required documents before the final deadline.

CUSAToffers M.Tech admission through a merit-based selection process for candidates holding a bachelor's degree in relevant engineering disciplines. The university prioritizes candidates with valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) scores, offering 5% mark relaxation for GATE-qualified applicants.

Candidates without GATE scores can appear for the Departmental Admission Test (DAT) conducted by respective departments. The admission process is entirely online, requiring candidates to register, upload documents, and pay application fees through the official portal.

CUSAT M.Tech Admission 2026 Important Dates

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields to qualify for M.Tech admission. The application process requires uploading the certificate of qualifying examination, mark lists, and other supporting documents through the online portal.

Applicants should ensure all documents are scanned clearly and uploaded in the specified format before proceeding to fee payment. The university will verify submitted documents and approve applications within ten days of submission.

CUSAT offers 14 specialized M.Tech program including Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science & AI, Cyber Security, AI and Software Engineering), VLSI and Embedded Systems, Polymer Technology, Optoelectronics and Laser Technology, Computer Aided Structural Analysis and Design, Information Technology (Business Analytics), Industrial Safety, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electronic Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Marine Biotechnology, and Synthetic Biology and Biomanufacturing. Each programme has limited seats with supernumerary allocations for reserved categories.

The application fee is ₹1,500 for general candidates and ₹700 for Kerala SC/ST candidates. Candidates applying for multiple M.Tech programmes need not pay additional test fees as there is no separate Common Admission Test (CAT) for M.Tech admissions.

Payment can be made through credit/debit cards, UPI, or net banking of all major banks. Once the application is submitted and approved, candidates will receive a confirmation email with their application details and can download the confirmation page from their candidate profile.

Merit-based selection prioritizes GATE-qualified candidates with valid scores in specified subjects. Candidates without GATE qualification will be considered for Departmental Admission Test (DAT) if sufficient GATE-qualified applicants are not available.

After the application deadline, CUSAT will release merit lists and conduct counselling sessions for shortlisted candidates. The counselling process involves option registration where candidates select their preferred programmes and specializations. Seat allotment will be done based on merit rank and candidate preferences.
