The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has released a detailed notification for candidates with specified disabilities, as defined under Section 2(s) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The guidelines pertain to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) or Specially Abled Persons (SAPs) with less than 40% disability appearing for CLAT 2025 and requiring a scribe or reader assistance.

Key Highlights of the Notification

  • Eligibility for Scribe Assistance:

    • Candidates with specified physical disabilities that hinder writing can opt for a scribe or reader.

    • Relevant documents must be uploaded via the applicant portal.

  • Document Submission Deadlines:

    • Annexure I: Must be uploaded by 5 PM, November 25, 2024.

    • Appendix II & III: Required for candidates arranging their own scribes, to be uploaded by 5 PM, November 23, 2024.

  • Request for Consortium-arranged Scribe:
    Candidates who prefer the Consortium to arrange a scribe must indicate their request in the CLAT applicant portal by 5 PM, November 23, 2024.

  • Scribe Qualifications:

    • Refer to Section 4.4 of the earlier notification dated July 29, 2024, for the specific qualification requirements of a scribe.

Steps to Update Documents for CLAT 2025 Scribe Assistance:

  • Log in to your CLAT 2025 account.

  • Click on the "Submit Scribe Documents" button.

  • Complete the form indicating whether you will arrange your own scribe or request the Consortium’s assistance.

  • Enter your CLAT Registration ID (admit card number) in the Appendix forms and save the updates.

Important Instructions:

  • Requests for scribe arrangements submitted through phone calls, emails, or support tickets will not be entertained.

  • Candidates must adhere to the deadlines to avoid disqualification.
