Chandigarh University ranked among the Top 150 Private Universities in QS Asia University Rankings 2024.

New Delhi: Chandigarh University (CU) has regained the leading position among private universities in India, securing the top rank in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2024.
Chandigarh University has significantly improved, by breaking into the top 150 universities in Asia, securing the 149th position—an impressive climb from the 185th rank in the previous rankings.
Nationally, the university has risen to the 11th position among both public and private universities, surpassing its 14th rank from the previous year. The university's overall score stands at 32.3.
Chandigarh University has secured a place among the top 1.1% of universities in Asia, out of a total of 13,837 universities. In the subset of ranked universities, CU stands among the top 18%.
The university has earned the 11th position in India, leaving nine IITs and five NITs. Notably, Chandigarh University has surpassed international universities from China, Japan, South Korea, and others featured in the QS World Ranking.

The latest rankings evaluated 857 institutions across Asian countries, including 148 from India. IIT Bombay leads the Indian institutions, securing the 40th position in the overall rankings. India holds the highest number of ranked universities in QS Asia Rankings 2024, making it the top-ranked country.
Furthermore, India stands as the leading country for new entrants in QS Asia 2024, with 37 new universities entering the rankings.
Earlier, last year, Chandigarh University achieved the distinction of being the youngest university to be listed in the Top 200 QS Asia University Rankings 2023. This year, the university has shown significant progress across various ranking parameters.
Notably, the university has experienced a substantial improvement in academic reputation, securing the 141st rank, a notable leap from the 176th position obtained last year. Similarly, the university has advanced in the international student ratio, now occupying the 127th spot, compared to the 153rd position in the previous year.

In terms of employer reputation, the university has achieved a rank of 59, surpassing last year's position of 65. In addition, there has been an improvement in the university's rank for the international faculty ratio, from the 97th position to the 76th position this year, and from the 252nd rank to the 244th rank in the faculty-student ratio. These rankings reflect the university's standing across various indicators among Indian institutions.
However, among the Indian institutions, CU has achieved the 3rd rank in international student ratio, the 4th rank in international faculty ratio, the 5th rank in employer reputation, and the 14th rank in academic reputation.

He mentioned that CU has been consistently improving its rankings over the past years. The university is steadily climbing the ladder, and there is no stop in the improvement. This progress is a result of the efforts made by the Chandigarh University faculty members and students who work tirelessly to make their mark in the field of higher education.

He commented that the QS Asia ranking mirrors the university's effective academic delivery, complemented by state-of-the-art resources, infrastructure, and facilities for students.
The university follows a systematic industry-oriented approach, ensuring top-tier education and cultivating future-ready talent for nation-building, he said.
Further, he added that, according to the 2024 edition of QS Asia university rankings, the university has made significant strides in academic reputation and enhanced employer reputation as well.
