Central University of Haryana Introduces Value-added Two-Credit Course on Valmiki Ramayan

New Delhi: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) in Mahendergarh has introduced a two-credit Value-added course at CUH centred on Valmiki Ramayan. This comprehensive value-added course is set to be available during both odd and even semesters, aiming to enhance the understanding of Ramayan and its significance among undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Professor Tankeshwar Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana, emphasised the course's breakthrough nature, titled "Scientific Evidence in Valmiki Ramayan." The Department of Physics and Astrophysics will oversee the course designed to familiarise students with the richness and relevance of Indian knowledge traditions.

The two-credit course, qualifying in nature, will cover essential aspects such as material featuring astronomical references, the scientific pattern of cultural artifacts, weapons, and practices, ecological sources' scientific relevance, geographical and scientific evidence related to Ram Setu, and other references illustrating the applicability of Ramayan in the present context.

Professor Tankeshwar Kumar from CUH Faculty mentioned that the course's primary objective is to sensitize students to various scientific evidence within Valmiki Ramayan. It aims to help them recognise the classical text as an equally significant reference source for students in sciences, humanities, and other disciplines, even in the modern context.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that this course will play a pivotal role in disseminating traditional Indian knowledge rooted in scientific evidence.
