IIT Bombay has announced the CEED 202and UCEED 2025 Part A cutoffs. It is calculated using the mean and standard deviation for each exam. Candidates can check the official websites for detailed information on the cut-off criteria.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially announced the cut-off marks for Part-A of both the CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) and UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) 2025. This marks an important step in the admission process for design-related programs offered by IITs and other participating institutes. The cut-off marks for Part A are category-specific and will be used to shortlist candidates. Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated for shortlisted candidates.
Mean and Standard Deviation for Part-A
For CEED 2025, the mean and standard deviation for Part-A have been determined as follows:
- Mean: 45.48
- Standard Deviation: 16.98
Similarly, for UCEED 2025, the values for Part-A are:
- Mean: 61.50
- Standard Deviation: 25.69
Cut-Off Calculation for Part-A
The cut-off marks for both exams are calculated using the mean and standard deviation of Part-A scores. For the OPEN category, the cut-off is computed as the sum of the average marks and half of the standard deviation. For reserved categories, the cut-off is relaxed:
- OBC-NCL and EWS: 90% of the OPEN category cut-off
- SC, ST, and PwD: 50% of the OPEN category cut-off
The final cut-off values are rounded to two decimal places.

Normalization of Scores
Normalization is a process used to adjust for the variations in difficulty levels of exams conducted across different slots. This ensures fairness by modifying scores based on the relative difficulty of the candidate’s exam slot compared to others.
- Raw Marks: The actual marks obtained by the candidate.
- Normalized Marks: The adjusted marks considering the difficulty level of the exam slot. If a candidate's slot is easier than others, their normalized marks may be lower than the raw marks, and if their slot is harder, the normalized marks could be higher.
