AIIMS signs MoU with CAPFIMS to run its institute as extension in Maidangarhi

New Delhi: The Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) has joined hands with AIIMS Delhi through an MoU to run CAPFIMS as an AIIMS campus. A part of the hospital beds on campus will be used to provide healthcare services to all CAPF patients.

As a part of this collaboration, the Ministry of Home Affairs will provide funds to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi for medical equipment and furniture for the extended campus. In addition to this, AIIMS will receive funds for campus operations and maintenance.

For this initiative, the Union Cabinet has granted funding of INR 2,207.50 crore in the 15th Finance Commission cycle to operate the CAPFIMS as an AIIMS campus in New Delhi

Informing about this MoU, the officials said, “During a meeting, it was decided that patients who are coming to AIIMS Delhi’s emergency and not able to find a bed or ICU facilities will be sent to CAPF Institute and care will be provided to the patients”.

About CAPF Institute of Medical Sciences in Maidangarhi, South Delhi

The Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences has state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure for students which include a 970-bed referral and research hospital, 500-bed general hospital, 300-bed super-specialty hospital, and 170 ICU/critical treatment beds.

The institute located in Maidangarhi, South Delhi, was established with a budget cost of approximately INR 2,091 crore. In addition to hospital facilities, it covers a Medical College with 100 seats, a College of Nursing with 60 seats, and a School of Paramedics with 300 seats as well as 60 seats for Post Graduate/PG Diploma Courses and 10 seats for Post-Doctoral Courses (DM & McH).
