What valuable advice would you like to give the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead? 

A prosperous career is built on passion and purpose. Identify what genuinely excites you and align your career choices with your interests. When you're passionate about what you do, success becomes a natural outcome. Failures are stepping stones to success. Don't be discouraged by setbacks; instead, learn from them. Resilience in the face of failure is a hallmark of successful individuals.


How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

To ensure that our students are well-prepared for the demands of the industry, we have implemented a range of strategies to infuse a practical approach and industry orientation into our subjects. Our curriculum includes project-based learning that requires students to solve real engineering challenges. 

These projects mimic industry scenarios, encouraging students to apply theories to practical situations and work collaboratively, just as they would in the professional world. We maintain state-of-the-art laboratories that simulate real-world scenarios. From materials testing to geotechnical analysis, students engage in hands-on experiments that reinforce theoretical concepts. Workshops conducted by experts from the field offer insights into the application of theories in actual projects.


What are some plans that you are currently (or will be) designing for students?

As the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, I am actively working on and planning various initiatives to enhance the educational experience and professional development of our students. We are establishing stronger ties with companies in the civil engineering sector to provide our students with more internship and placement opportunities. 

This will give them hands-on experience and increase their chances of securing desirable positions after graduation. e are planning more frequent and diverse field trips and site visits. These visits will expose students to different types of projects, construction methods, and engineering practices, enhancing their practical understanding of the field. We are expanding research opportunities for students, encouraging them to collaborate with faculty on projects that address industry challenges.
