New Delhi: BIMTECH welcomed the PGDM class of 2023–25 at the 36th commencement ceremony on June 30, 2023. Nearly 480 students and their families attended the ceremony to witness the young people embark on their transformative learning and leadership journeys.

The BIMTECH graduation ceremony, known as the "Deeksharambh," is a moment of immense pomp and symbolises long-standing customs of distinctive academic celebration. Morning prayers were offered in piety prior to the commencement ceremony, and Pt. Sujeet Kumar Ojha and a group from Delhi's Gandharva Mahavidyalaya then presented devotional music.

Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director of BIMTECH, gave a warm welcoming address to the gathering in the evening. He thanked the parents for placing their faith in BIMTECH and congratulated the new students on their acceptance. He introduced them to BIMTECH's rich academic history, which has been duly acknowledged by organisations like AACSB, NAAC, and NBA.

He noted the diversity of the incoming class, which includes 38% female and 62% male students and is made up of four PGDM programmes (PGDM-Core, PGDM-International Business, PGDM-Insurance Business Management, and PGDM-Retail Management).

He said, "BIMTECH is proud to have cultivated the status of being a 'Mini India' with students from 28 states and eclectic backgrounds, with 45% students from Science & Humanities, 38% from Commerce, He reiterated BIMTECH's contribution to social impact and said, "We believe in our involvement in sustainability and inclusive growth, and the institute recycles natural resources and takes care of needs of future generations".

K.S. Bakshi, Group Head of Human Resources at InterGlobe Enterprises Private Limited, who has over 30 years of experience leading the Human Resources Function in the aviation, hospitality, telecom, and manufacturing sectors, attended the historic event as the chief guest.

He imparted endless wisdom to the students during his commencement speech, emphasising five life lessons that are fundamental traits for lifelong growth: getting your hands dirty, mindfulness, passion for purpose, curiosity, and relationship building.

He told the students, "You have to ask for help; it's not really about books or social media searches; you need to ask for support from the strong professors and management team at BIMTECH who will mentor and coach you. He also exhorted them to seize the wonderful opportunities that were presented.

He predicted that the skills of the future will be "harnessing technology, leveraging networks, fostering innovation, demonstrating resilience, and displaying agility." He underlined the importance of respecting oneself and others in his final remarks.

The guest-of-honor, Lopamudra Banerjee, CHRO, Carrier Midea India Private Limited, also gave a motivational speech at the event. She said to the students during her keynote talk, "What a transformative journey and career opportunity you are embarking upon!" Every chance will hone, sharpen, and clear the way for you.

She described the difficulties they would face and urged them to make all of their decisions with their conscience and moral compass as their north star. According to Thomas Edison, who she cited, "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work".

In addition, Banerjee asked students to remember the 'Uketamo' philosophy of acceptance with grace and to engage with people who inspire and challenge them. Following the inspiring talks, the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) BIMTECH's Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development unveiled its annual report.

The BIMTECH concept includes encouraging entrepreneurial endeavours, which is seen in the center's creation of 3165 employment, the millions of dollars in grants awarded and received, and more than 300 enterprises. Dr. Anupam Varma, Deputy Director of BIMTECH, offered the vote of appreciation to conclude the solemn event. The future flag bearers started their academic careers at BIMTECH, the premier institution of business education in India.
