New Delhi: The Bar Council of India (BCI) has banned eight law colleges from admitting students in law programmes for the academic year 2024-2025 until further notice. The decision was taken after a thorough review of the institutions’ compliance with educational standards and regulations. 

The report of the review revealed that these 8 colleges were non-compliant with the required standards of education and infrastructure. Among the prohibited colleges by the Bar Council of India, four are from Uttar Pradesh, two from Andhra Pradesh, and one from Rajasthan.

Here we have listed the names of the 8 barred colleges below:

  1. H. S. Law College (Affiliated from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University)
  2. Master Somnath Law College (Affiliated from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University)
  3. Shri Krishna College of Law (Affiliated from Chaudhary Charan Singh university)
  4. Sri Eshwar Reddy College of Law (Affiliated from Sri Venkateswara University)
  5. Sri Shirdi Sai Vidya Parishad, Sri Shirdi Sai Law College (Affiliated from Andhra University)
  6. S. S. College of Law (Affiliated from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University)
  7. Teju Singh Memorial Law College (Affiliated from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University)
  8. NIILM School of Law, NIILM University 

The selected colleges are expected to rectify the highlighted issues as soon as possible and request a review after the inadequacies have been corrected. The Bar Council of India will then re-evaluate these institutions and may withdraw the prohibition if they are determined to be completely compliant with the required standards.
