The NM-AU-TNcpl Hackathon 2024 saw the participation of 45 colleges, including five government institutions, nine affiliated with Anna University, and 26 autonomous colleges.
New Delhi: Anna University and GUVI joined hands to train Tamil Nadu engineering students through ‘Naan Mudhalvan—Anna University—GUVI Tamil Nadu Coder's Premier League (NM-AU-TNcpl) hackathon. The training will be imparted using Generative AI in Tamil Nadu.
As per Anna University, the collaboration provided knowledge and training in coding within the state. The grand finale of the hackathon was organised at IIT Madras on April 12, 2024. Over 82,688 students from all over Tamil Nadu participated in the hackathon.
Key Highlights of NM-AU-TNcpl Hackathon 2024
The hackathon was launched in partnership with the 'Naan Mudhalvan' initiative of the government of Tamil Nadu, Anna University, and Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC). An all-women team secured the top prizes.
Tamil Nadu's Sports Minister, Thiru Udhyanidhi Stalin, launched this initiative in February 2024. 45 colleges participated, including five government institutions, nine affiliated with Anna University, and 26 autonomous colleges.
Women comprised 53% of the total participants. Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, KS Rangasamy College of Technology, and Kongunadu Engineering College shared third place with projects like 'Smart Tutor Chatbot' and 'AI-Based Language Learning'.
Madras Institute of Technology was awarded first place for 'Dynamic Event Planner', and Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering secured second place for 'News Sphere'. Cash prizes and certificates awarded to the top 20 teams, including the winners.
