New Delhi: An AMU alumna, Dr.Fatma Faheem, received prestigious recognition for her outstanding research contributions at the 7th Safety and Cultural Heritage Summit-2023, hosted by the Smithsonian Institution.
The event was conducted recently at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) in Washington, D.C. Dr Fatma, a Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Museology at AMU, presented her research paper titled 'Safeguarding India’s Heritage: Integrating Nano-Biopesticides and Traditional Methods for Sustainable Pest Control in Cultural Heritage Institutions.' Her research underscored the essential fusion of nanotechnology and traditional practices for sustainable pest management within cultural heritage institutions, aligning seamlessly with the summit's themes of 'Conservation-Collection Care' and 'Health-Safety Professions.
AMU: Inter school events held to mark Sir Syed Day
Numerous students from various schools under the university's administration enthusiastically joined and secured prizes in diverse literary and cultural competitions organized by the Aligarh Muslim University Girls Schools to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
Shazia and Juveria from AMU ABK High School (Girls) jointly clinched the top prize in the inter-school Nazm Khwani (Poem Recitation) competition. Muskan Zaheer and Zunaira Khan from AMU Girls’ School secured the second prize, while Preeti and Nabila Nausheen of Senior Secondary School (Girls) shared the third prize. Alfiya Naaz and Tabassum Parveen from AMU City Girls High School received consolation prizes.
