AIIMS Rishikesh celebrated 4th convocation on April 23 at its campus. Event was graced by President Draupadi Murmu who delivers her concerns regarding CAR T-cell therapy and Stem Cell Research.

New Delhi: The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, attended and delivered her speech at the 4th AIIMS Rishikesh conference in Uttarakhand, organized on April 23, 2024. President Murmu highlighted the significance of women's participation in tertiary healthcare and policy-making, further aiming to create positive social change. She remarked that the population of women at AIIMS Rishikesh is over 60%.

She commended the significant national achievement of AIIMS institutions, including AIIMS Rishikesh, in providing top-notch education and medical services. She highlighted the establishment of multiple AIIMS nationwide to benefit more people and offer education to deserving students.

She stressed the need for institutions like AIIMS Rishikesh to prioritise high-class technology for societal welfare. She was impressed with AIIMS Rishikesh's development in CAR T-cell therapy and Stem Cell Research and encouraged further advancement through collaboration in such fields.

The president stressed osteoporosis and anaemia affects the health of local people especially of women in Uttarakhand. The President urged AIIMS Rishikesh to address local health issues alongside global medical research. 

She highlighted the importance of public health initiatives and community engagement in contributing to a 'Healthy India' and fostering national development. Expressing confidence in the increasing role of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in healthcare, she encouraged AIIMS Rishikesh to utilize these advancements effectively for society's benefit.
