AIIMS Nagpur PhD Admission 2025 Open; Apply by December 17

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur is inviting applications for PhD programme 2025. The PhD Entrance Test will be conducted on January 8, 2025.

AIIMS Nagpur PhD Admission 2025 Schedule

Candidates must submit the scanned copy of application form with all required self-attested documents by email at academics@aiimsnagpur.edu.in. Changes in the application will not be permitted after December 17, 2024.

The hard copy of the application form (with self-attested copies of all documents) and fees (Demand Draft) must be submitted by Speed Post to the following Address.

AIIMS Nagpur PhD Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria

• Medical Qualification:
  • MBBS with Minimum 55% aggregate marks and MD/MS/MPH/DM/MCH or Diplomate of National Board of Examination in the subject concerned.
  • Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges other than INI, which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India will not be eligible to apply.
• Non-Medical Qualification: Master’s Degree by Indian Universities or equivalent in the relevant subject.
  • Candidates holding M.Sc (Other than M.Sc Nursing) M.Tech. degree, BAMS & BHMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification category.
  • Candidates having eligibility under the non-medical category should have at least 55% marks in the last qualified examination.
  • Candidates possessing a Masters Degree through Distance Learning Course shall not be eligible.
• Candidates with Fellowships: The candidates should have preferably qualified in any one of the following National Entrance Tests in the last 2 years
  • Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF
  • ICMR-JRF
  • DBT-SRF
  • NBHM screening test
  • Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE)
  • INSPIRE fellowship
• Candidates working under Central Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous organisation should submit their applications through their employer. They will be required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer along with their applications.

AIIMS Nagpur PhD Admission 2025 Selection Process

• Aptitude test (30 Marks) is as follows:
  • English - 10 marks
  • Biostatistics & Research Methodology - 15 marks
  • Cell Biology & Lab Technology - 5 marks
• Subject-related test (40 marks): MCQ questions of MD/MS/M.Sc entrance level. Each correct (MCQ) answer will be awarded 1 mark. Zero marks will be given for questions not answered. There is no negative marking.
• Out of the candidates who secured 50% or above in the written test and are 3 times the number of seats advertised, will be called for departmental assessment (20 marks).
• Candidates who have qualified in any one of the following tests in the last 2 years will be awarded 10 Marks:
  • Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF
  • ICMR-JRF
  • ICMR-SRF
  • DBT-JRF
  • NBHM screening test
  • Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE)
  • INSPIRE fellowship
• Weightage of 10 marks will be added in addition to the above weightage for the person who is having all the qualifications to the total score.
• After the entrance examination, results will be declared in mid-January and mid-July.
• After the declaration of results, selection letters will be issued by the Academic Section.

AIIMS Nagpur PhD Admission 2025 Fee Structure

Candidates have to pay the application fee of INR 1500 plus transaction charges as applicable. The mode of payment must be through a demand draft in the name of “Director AIIMS Nagpur”, Payable at Nagpur.

*Every student has to deposit for the recovery of breakages or loss of the Institute’s equipment.

All fees and dues must be paid at the time of admission. The hostel security deposit is refundable (only INR 1000/-). Fees and other charges including hostel rent once paid shall not be refunded in any case and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection.

Candidates are required to bring the following original documents along with one self-attested photocopy of each.

• Admit card
• Original photo-bearing identity cards
• 10th (High School) Marksheet and Certificate
• 12th (Higher Secondary) Marksheet and Certificate
• Mark sheets of all years of Degree examination
• Degree/ Provisional Degree Certificate
• Internship Completion Certificate (if applicable)
• Medical Council Registration (if applicable)
• Mark sheet of Post Graduate Degree examination (if applicable)
• Degree/ Provisional Post-Graduate Degree Certificate
• Mark sheets and Certificates in respect of any other additional qualification
• Experience certificate issued by the Competent Authority of the Organization/Institute/Department along with complete details of the period, nature of duties, pay, etc.
• NOC/Relieving order from current employer in case working in any Central/State/Public Sector/Autonomous organization
• National Entrance test letter of award of fellowship (If applicable)

The minimum PhD duration at AIIMS Nagpur for all the candidates will be three years. The maximum period will not exceed five years. Extension beyond the period of 5 years can be given for a maximum period of 6 months on the recommendation of the Doctoral Committee (DC) and final approval by the Dean and Director.
