The executive director of AIIMS's media cell, Dr. Rima Dada, acknowledged that the official launch of this joint endeavor would soon be marked by the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU). She emphasized, "Both AIIMS Delhi and DGAFMS are committed to fostering a spirit of innovation, research, and academic excellence through this partnership."

The alliance involving AIIMS Delhi and DGAFMS has the potential to accelerate technological developments in high-altitude medicine and space medicine. It is committed primarily to assisting research and academic institutions, in addition, to contributing to the practice and knowledge of medicine across all disciplines. The aforementioned agreement constitutes an affiliation among two renowned establishments with the ultimate objective of accelerating advancements in these fundamental areas of study.

Added to that, AIIMS has chosen to implant GPS trackers in staff vehicles, excluding those utilized in restricted/high-security locations, to protect the safety of occupants and monitor real-time movement. The decision was made in light of incidents in which staff automobiles, which are frequently employed for critical patient care activities during off-duty hours, experienced difficulties such as breakdowns at night, causing delays in sourcing replacement vehicles.

In another noteworthy advance, AIIMS is preparing to address healthcare challenges faced by soldiers stationed in high-latitude regions such as Siachen and Tibet in association with the Indian Army. The aim is to establish a specialized counseling approach adapted to these jawans' unique requirements. Healthcare professionals emphasized potential hazards encountered at higher elevations, such as extreme mountain sickness alongside additional ailments, pointing out the significance of dedicated health assistance under these circumstances.
