- The academic system of the university teaches much beyond the theoretical knowledge as I learn the application of theory in real life and much of the practical approach needed as a fresher to work in a dynamic environment.
- The University provides a lot of facilities and that too free of cost. You have access to library -unlimited books unlimited photocopies ,scan just free of cost , teaching help services - can book session with highly educated staff and discuss anything be it a assignment or anything that pops in the mind and need a expert advice.
- The lecturers are very friendly and open to suggestions which makes it easy to form a friendly relation and approach them without hesitation.
Campus Life
- University provides a lot of extracurricular activities like movie nights, lots of free food stalls during the year ,holi party , induction and farewell parties, and more events during the year like fire shows, painting and mental well-being events and there are various clubs related to different activities, like one for organising activities, a cultural group, and different sports groups.
- I am a member of BAP waikato group which for people studying finance and accounting and help them to connect with professionals and many other events supporting studies.
Accommodation
- I find accommodations through Facebook or websites like lodge ,waikato rentals. The average rent of one person is around 200 dollars in which room is private and everything else is shared, but you don't have to pay anything extra for electricity, internet or utilities and if you opted for a private accommodation where everything is personal, it is generally 300 dollars and everything included.

Likes
- The teaching method is very much interactive.
- The also give us recordings of lectures so when a doubt arises, I can refer them
- The University provides free medical attention to students
Dislikes
- Some lecturers are out of reach after the session like even through emails they don't respond quicker.
- The university accommodation is quite costly.
- The fee also gets increased every year
Campus Life
- There are two campuses for the University of Waikato, one in Tauranga and the other in Hamilton.
- The campus has facilities like a library, bus stops, gym, laundry, indoor basketball court, rubgy ground, cafes, restaurants and also free Wi-Fi throughout the campus.
- The university conducts many job fairs for students who come here even for part-time too and I have seen that it has been really helpful to many students.
Accommodation
- I opted out for off-campus accommodation since its much cheaper. So, I started searching my online platforms and then I set up a viewing and saw the room. For the first week I searched, mostly the rooms were far from the university. So, then I started searching using Facebook Marketplace, and I searched using the close radius option and got a room near the university after 2 weeks of searching.
- The rent here is paid weekly, so its NZ$180 preweek, which includes the kitchen, washing machine and electricity. For Wi-Fi and gas bills, it will cost another 50-60 extra. Mostly, as far i have seen, Indians stay close to the university for quite some time, and then if they buy a car or something, they go a little further so the rent is a little cheaper there.

Campus Life
We have a very good campus life. We have Unirek where we can do anything so we can play badminton, we get gym membership, we get swimming pool access, there are 4 libraries with diversity of sciences and technology, we have computer lab where we can spend the whole day. Here we have Waikato International Student Association, so here there are lot of students associated pipe. We have some clubs for various sports such as Rugby, Badminton etc. in which we can join through unirek. There is a community for Gujaratis, Indians, etc. So, we celebrate every Indian festival.
Accommodation
The college accommodation was much here. It was two times higher than the off campus and I used to live with my relatives.
Campus Life
The campus life was very amazing, the size of a campus was small and packed. There were tons of clubs and societies available which one can join according to their interest. Although due to this pandemic my whole quotes period has been spent through online classes so I haven't got the opportunity to experience the best campus life that could have been possible. There was a high speed Wi-Fi facility available throughout the campus premises which was a good thing for sure. Lastly there was a library which had almost all the books that you could think for and was one of the most favoured places by Research Scholars.

Accommodation
I didn't stay in any of the university accommodations. I had rented out a 3-bedroom house along with my other friends in the university suburbs where I could easily connect with University and the city.
New Zealand is a small market compared to any large market countries like UK or USA. I preferred this university because the course I pursued there is actually relevant to what I wanted to do in my career ahead. The course curriculum didn't have any semester or trimester system. Each and every paper were given sole training continuously and the impact of group discussion was high. The entire learning method is different from what we learn in India. The concept of exams wasn't there for most of the papers I studied at this university.
Campus Life
The Hamilton campus has almost all facilities you could need and others can be arranged upon request. The vibrant student community has a lot of activities to engage in, based upon one's own interest. The sporting scene is pretty good with a lot of social and professional clubs into different sports.
Accommodation
On campus accommodation provides a vibrant and diverse outlook to university life. However, I would recommend off campus flatting, as it is way cheaper and prepares us for onward life out of university. The renting situation in Hamilton is not as bad as other major cities in New Zealand such as Auckland and Wellington. With proper research and time into flatting, we can find comfortable living environments around $150 NZD inclusive of all bills such as electricity and internet.
