  • The program is structured to encompass both campus-based and school-based teaching and learning, with the majority of the time spent in schools.
  • This is an intensive 180-point program that runs from Semester Two of one year through to Semester One of the next year, with compulsory enrolment in Summer School between these two semesters. Students study a range of Education Professional (EDPROF) courses.
  • This practical program, taught by experts in primary education, will qualify students to become provisionally certificated teachers in primary and intermediate schools (Year 1 to Year 8, typically children aged 5–13).
  • Students will develop the tools they need to prepare them for 21st-century classrooms where digital learning is key.
  • Through placements at primary and intermediate schools, students will establish connections and develop practical skills. Students will have the opportunity to apply to complete a practicum in a specialist school.
  • Shaped by a commitment to fairness and social justice, the program is underpinned by principles in the Treaty of Waitangi and a determination to ensure equitable learning outcomes for the students
