The ICT Graduate School is a collaboration between the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato and offers postgraduate study in Information Technology
that aims to develop smart, industry-ready ICT graduates who will meet this
need. The MInfoTech will be awarded jointly by the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato. 


You take the core Course Research Methods, and complete either a research project or thesis under the guidance of an experienced academic supervisor. Your project or thesis may involve the creation of a software artefact. Enrolment in a thesis is subject to achieving at least a  B- average in coursework courses including a pass in Research Methods I and approval of research proposal.

The Master of Computer and Information Sciences enables you to focus on one of the discipline clusters below, or combine courses from different clusters.


The Professional Master of Computer Science (PMCS) offers practical learning in the rapidly advancing area of computer technologies in need of skilled graduates.

This one-year master’s degree focuses on applied learning to independently design, implement, and maintain open-ended computing projects using the latest programming theories and software.

UC’s programme will prepare you for professional industry practice, or high-level research in computing theory.


The Master of Science (Technology) is a unique degree that allows students to complete a relevant, real-world research project in combination with an industry partner or other external stakeholder.
