  • The course is very relevant and practical, and tries to answer modern challenges in agriculture/plant science through fundamental research.
  • There could be 2 to 4 classes each day of 1.5 hours each
  • The student range differs from department to department. In my department, plant breeding, there should be around 60 students

Fees

  • Tuition fees for two years right now are 42000 euros.

Course Curriculum

  • My course syllabus is highly advanced and highly relevant according to all international standards and European standards. During the courses, students also get exposure to research through working in labs, and they go on excursions and field trips to learn practically. For example, during my studies, I went to a couple of dairy farms and interacted directly with farmers.
  • I got industrial exposure through my two internships that I did for about 11 months. Additionally, I also got research experience through my thesis, which took me 1 year to complete. I got a lot of exposure to soil incubation experiments in my thesis.
  • Usually, there are 2 classes scheduled in a day. For the morning course, the classes start at 8:20 am, and for some courses, they start at 10:00. In the afternoon, the classes typically start at 14:00 and end at 15:30. Most of the time, there's also group work after the classes to work on the assignments.
  • The average number of students in my class is 30 to 40

Fees

  • The total tuition fees of my study program range from 40,000 to 50,000 euros for the whole 2-year period.

The course curriculum and the education system differs a lot from home country to here. It was all going well until we faced pandemic. Everything changed around and education was online and it was the most difficult time to adjust to so many things happening around. We as International students should be ready to face all sort of circumstances. It wasn't easy in the beginning but the professors and other students were really friendly and that made it easy for me to cope up with the new system. I will soon start my master thesis and looking forward to get research experience.

Wageningen University and Research(WUR) is one of the best universities for Life Sciences. It stands in 16th place overall in the world according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Europe has always had my heart, I fell in love with this place when I had come in 2012. It was then that I decided if I will pursue my higher education then it will be in Europe. So then as my field is biotechnology and WUR was the best university to make my dreams come true.
