What Students Say
Likes
- Amazing academics and facilities for pursuing a master's degree in Plant sciences.
Course Curriculum
- The course is very relevant and practical, and tries to answer modern challenges in agriculture/plant science through fundamental research.
- There could be 2 to 4 classes each day of 1.5 hours each
- The student range differs from department to department. In my department, plant breeding, there should be around 60 students
Admission Experience
- Its overall rank, flexible course structure, and word of mouth from students already studying here. A GPA of at least 7.5, a recognised bachelor's degree, and an IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.5 in each area in IELTS academics.
Faculty
- I am not sure about the faculty-to-student ratio. It should also be present on the very genuine university site. Faculties are super smart, very approachable, and easy to interact with. There are a few faculty members who have been really good with me, but they generally do not prefer sharing their names or details.
Campus Life
- There is one main campus with 5-6 main education buildings. Other than this, there are numerous buildings, but they are meant for research only. There are two main festivals during summer and winter, and there are clubs that have regular parties. Also, there are many student associations on campus.
Part Time Jobs
- There are part-time jobs, but for international students, you need a work permit, which might cause problems. If you have a part-time job, the hourly income is 14.70 euros for the 23 and above age group.
- Students in this age group get slightly less pay. You are allowed to work 64 hrs a month, so you can end up with 700 to 1000 euros depending on the hours you work. It is not very difficult to find a job tho. There are student assistantships, but very irregular, and you have to be very good in a particular subject to get one.
Placement
- I am not sure about the percentage, but the average salary here starts from 2500-3000 euros for students graduating from plant sciences. To find jobs, you have to enter the open market and search yourself, or if someone recommends you, then it works.
Accommodation
- I live in a student housing, the company that provides this housing is called Idealis, and we book the room through rooms.nl. The rent is 529 euros per month, but we also get some subsidy depending on the size of the room and whether the room is eligible for a subsidy.
Exams
- Admission generally requires IELTS/TOEFL results, a CV, an SOP, and 3 letters of recommendation.
Fees
- Tuition fees for two years right now are 42000 euros.
