  • There is a lottery system by the university where they provide housing to international students; luckily I got a place through that. The university has tieups with real estate in the city and has its own housing on campus as well. I got a studio for max 1 year in the city centre.
  • The rent was 1000 euros, but I got a rent subsidy from the government, which you can apply for, so in total I paid around 500 euros/month. The studio had everything from pots and pans to washing machines, heating, etc. So you really don't need to carry anything with yourself.
  • Till the time the housing lottery was not out, I was searching on Facebook and the internet. However, all the accommodations were really bad and expensive.
  • I would recommend only coming if you secure it through the university; otherwise, it gets really expensive and tough to sustain otherwise.
  • My accommodation was a 10-minute bike ride to the campus. As said, Indian students are spread out all over the city. It is not like a North American campus where Indians stay together but here in the Netherlands we like to stay with other nationalities; otherwise, whats the point in leaving your country and staying abroad.

I did select the university mainly because of the standard and ranking. I was hoping for the scholarship and only applied to this university. My application preparation for this took more than 6 months. I wanted to further study data science and hence I chose data science related M.Sc. University was pretty good as I got a review from my family member who studied here before. The overall experience was very nice. The masters program is for people who are interested in understanding why. I would say it again why? why this answer? why it failed? These are the question that you focus always in your masters program. For example lets say you want to plot a graph during your course. The professors mainly will focus on what graph you plot and why? what does it show. The focus of which tool you used is mostly irrelevant. So remember to keep this in mind when you go for a masters in universities in Netherland.

The Eindhoven University of Technology is a good place to learn science and applications of engineering, I was looking for a program after my master's program that will not be theoretical like Ph.D. And there will also be ample scope for learning the applications of advanced mathematics. This program perfectly serves my purpose. Furthermore, Eindhoven is a fairly modern city in the southern part of the Netherlands and is considered a high-tech city in Europe due to the presence of many Dutch and international companies.

Compared to other countries, the price to quality of education ratio is the best in the world in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the TU/e is the best university for my respective program where the course is taught in English so it was a fairly straightforward choice for me once i was accepted.
