Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- There are more funding opportunities in Ireland compared to the UK. Also, I want to explore the EU market and wanted to pursue my degree from an English-speaking EU country. As Ireland is flourishing, it comes up with immense opportunities for international students.

Tips to enhance your application
- All these documents mentioned above are enough for securing admission, but students need to be careful about their bachelor's degree, as universities are strict about this. When a student is applying for a master's, their bachelor's degree has to be in a similar or related field.
Admission Experience
- Ireland is currently a flourishing nation, which brings great opportunities to locals and internationals as well. There are top-ranked universities in Ireland, which makes the education here acceptable worldwide. DCU is one of the best young universities, ranked under 80 in the world and 420 overall, which is of great benefit. They offer variety, of course, in all fields.
Class Schedule
- The classes are around 4 days a week, and one day is for a tutorial in which they teach trending software useful for the job market, like Python, etc. Also, some guest lectures from the top-level management people in industry are arranged.
- Along with this, the much-needed skills for job markets are taught for 2 whole days once a semester by specialised faculty members who play an important role in securing jobs. This depends on which course you are taking.
Faculty
- As I mentioned earlier, faculty members are top researchers and academicians who love the subject and are excellent at teaching. Faculty members come from different nationalities, so it brings the best from around the world. Dr. Sandeep Rao is one of the top faculty members in the finance field, along with Dr. Aref, Dr. Mathieu, Dr. Pawan, Dr. Ved, etc., who are all very good.
Campus Life
- There are 4 Dublin City University campuses: DCU Main campus, DCU All Hallows campus, DCU St. Patrick's campus and DCU Sports College. There are medical stores, printing stores, a restaurant and a pub on campus, which makes it easier if you forget to bring lunch someday. Also, there are several coffee shop options available.
Part Time Jobs
- Restaurants, bars and grocery stores. As these places often hire for part-time and have flexible work schedules, most of the students prefer working in such stores, bars or pubs. I won't say it is super easy to secure a part-time job, but it isn't difficult if you really get onto it as soon as possible.
- Part-time jobs are available off campus and on campus as well. There are stores on campus that may sometimes be hiring for part-time. But there are a lot of opportunities off campus, and a variety of restaurants, bars and stores offer part-time jobs. There are dedicated websites for part-time roles.
Placement
- Job opportunities totally depend on the status of hiring at that particular time. There are a lot of multinational companies in Ireland, so getting a job is not a tough task. I know seniors who have secured a job either before the completion of the course or right after the completion. But the salary and role may depend on experience and CV.
Accommodation
- There are accommodations available on campus, but they are limited. There are several websites available to rent a whole apartment, a room or shared space with others. Also, websites that specifically offer student accommodation help a lot in finding the appropriate and safe accommodation for a year, which makes it easier and hassle-free.
